Lesson Title: Leadership, Service and Humanity

  • What are the characteristics of a good, positive leader?
  • What are some of the attitudes and behaviors of members of a group that indicate who they consider a leader in the group?
  • How can one small project serve as an example to encourage others to join and “grow” the small project into a much larger project and, perhaps, into a network of projects?
  • Why and how can leaders and supporters of “good deed” projects impact the relationships of a much broader audience of human populations – local, national, and international?
Lesson Goals/Objectives The student should be able to:

  • Describe some characteristics of a good leader and explain why they are important.
  • Explain how a leader’s attitudes and actions may influence the choices and actions of individual group members and the group as a whole.
  • Explain how one good deed, no matter how small, can impact a number of lives.
  • Explain how a leader may influence others in a way that results in one good deed or one helping project developing into a network of projects and organizations.
